FreeTime Founder Finalist for BlackWeblog Awards

Winners of the annual celebration of Black social media excellence will be announced live in a ceremony on July 9, 2011 in Los Angeles, CA.

The Black Weblog Awards have announced the finalists for the 2011 Black Weblog Awards. The awards are an annual celebration of Black social media excellence and FreeTime Founder Darryl Frierson and his blog From Ashy 2 Classy(www.ashy2classy.net) is a finalist for Best Culture Blog and Best Lifestyle Blog.

The Black Weblog Awards was founded in 2005 to give recognition to Black bloggers (and those of the African diaspora) which are normally largely overlooked by other Internet award events on and offline. Finalists were selected by members of the public through an online nomination process. Blog award winners will be determined by popular vote. Online voting ends June 17, 2001.

“The Black Weblog Awards create amazing energy each year within the Black blogosphere,” said Gina McCauley, the Executive Director of the 2011 Black Weblog Awards. “It is that one time of year when we all pause to recognize the hard work and determination it takes to produce content and build vibrant engaging online communities year-round.”
